"Buy the chicken"

A joke about the support's first duty — buying the courier (the "chicken") for the whole team, and wards too.

Heroes and items

• Dota 2 memes explained

Origin

• In the first DotA the courier was shared and cost 200 gold, and buying it fell to supports. Patch 7.23 in 2019 gave every player their own courier — and the line became nostalgia for old Dota.

Example

• "Five, buy the courier." — "That was before 7.23, grandpa."
